ALEXANDER LANGER, BRIDGE-BUILDER. PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK BY MARCO BOATO
Marco Boato tells the story of Alexander Langer, for whom crossing borders was a lifetime commitment
Alexander Langer (1946-1995) journalist, peace activist and politician, remains a highly relevant figure. A bridge-builder par excellence, Langer started to encourage dialogue between the different communities in South Tyrol, in the Dolomites, where he was born and lived for many years.
Marco Boato, who shared many of Langer’s initiatives will be presenting a portrait of an authentic, articulate witness of our times, describing his South Tyrolese roots, his relationship with the Catholic Church, his education, his involvement with political movements of the 1960s, his subsequent political activism and his “conversion” to the Green Cause, his commitment to non-violence and his work to promote interethnic dialogue.
