EXPERIMENTING WITH BORDERS – SIX EXPERTS, ONE THEME
An informal conference on the theme of borders. A psychiatrist, an artist, a philosopher-priest, an anthropologist, a scientific researcher and a social historian talk about #BEYONDBORDERS.
A border is not just a physical frontier, barbed wire or a customs post, it is the thin, ambiguous membrane that separates normality from madness, the true from the false, life from death, mine from yours, day from night. The human experience is deeply marked by the concept of the border in all its forms and contexts.
This lively, informal conference, on borders and #BEYONDBORDERS will feature six experts discussing this theme: artist and performer Michele Sambin (TAM Teatromusica, Padua); Father Rinaldo Ottone, philosopher (Director of the Belluno Advanced Institute of Religious Studies); remote sensing researcher Bartolomeo Ventura (EURAC – Bolzano European Academy); psychiatrist Alessandro Barberio (Trieste Department of Mental Health) and social historian Casimira Grandi (University of Trento).
Anthropologist Gianpaolo Gri (University of Udine) will be moderating the discussion.
Followed by an aperitif with the experts in the local hostelry in Auronzo di Cadore.
The speakers at Experimenting with Borders will continue chatting about #BEYONDBORDERS with interested members of the public over a spritz or a glass of good wine.
