PICCOLA BOTTEGA BALTAZAR IN CONCERT
The singer-songwriters sing of war, mountains, resentment and shopping centres.
The songs of Piccola Bottega Baltazar often hang by a thread, marked by a precarious balance on the border between the past and the future.
These are songs that use the genre of folk music but whose attitude is anything but nostalgic, rather seeking out all that must be saved before it is lost. To be part of the changes afflicting contemporary life, you need to look for your own roots and open up to the world through music and songs.
The programme for the evening will feature tracks from the albums they have released over a decade as well as some music from the soundtrack of the film La Prima Neve (The First Snow) by Andrea Segre.
They will also be previewing their new album, due for release in the coming months. This album continues in the vein of the new folk style but in contrast with their previous work, it adds some electric sounds and introduces woodwind instruments, such as the clarinet, bass clarinet and tenor sax as a regular part of the entire musical construct.
